Botswana JST Power Company Visits Hebei Yongshang Cable Group – Exploring New Opportunities for China-Africa Cooperation in the Cable Industry

A delegation from Botswana's JST Power Company visited Hebei Yongshang Cable Group to hold in-depth discussions on topics such as the supply of power cables, technical cooperation, and market expansion in Africa. The general manager of Yongshang Cable warmly received the guests, and both parties reached multiple consensus on industrial resource integration and international expansion, injecting new momentum into the coordinated development of Chinese and African enterprises.

The delegation first toured Yongshang Group’s digital power cable production workshop and product testing center. They gained detailed insight into the entire quality control process of “YSJT”‑branded Power Cables – from copper smelting and conductor stranding to final product delivery – and expressed strong recognition of the company’s stringent weather resistance testing standards.

Representatives from Botswana's JST Ltd. , drawing on the current state of power infrastructure development in Southern Africa, outlined their core cooperation objectives. They noted that their company is in a critical phase of energy transition, with an urgent need for highly reliable cable products adapted to tropical climates. Yongshang's technological capabilities and production capacity are well aligned with the requirements of local grid upgrades and new energy project construction. The two sides engaged in lively discussions on specific areas of cooperation, including customized product development and the establishment of a local service network. They also drafted a preliminary product adaptation plan for the Southern African market, covering products such as power cables, new energy cables, and building wires and cables. The two sides plan to collaborate in areas such as conductor material selection and the optimization of insulation performance in high-temperature environments.

At the conclusion of the talks, both parties reached preliminary agreement on establishing a long‑term strategic partnership. Under the proposed plan, Yongshang Cable will leverage its manufacturing base to provide Botswana JST Ltd. with stable product supply and technical support, while Botswana JST Ltd. will utilize its channel resources in the Southern African market to help further expand the “YSJT” brand in that region. This meeting not only opens a new window for Yongshang Cable’s international development but also brings high‑quality Chinese technology and products to Botswana’s power infrastructure construction – a vivid example of complementary advantages and mutual benefit between Chinese and African enterprises.
