Q: What practical limits should we consider for fire resistant cables in high altitude solar and power station projects in Central Asia?

A: High altitude low air pressure environment reduces insulation flashover voltage threshold, even for qualified fire resistant cables. Nominal rated voltage parameters under sea level conditions cannot be directly copied for high altitude installation. Derating adjustment for voltage withstand capacity must be implemented according to local altitude data. Besides routine fire performance verification, check clearance and creepage distance for termination parts, and prevent partial discharge triggered by altitude related insulation performance change.
