You are here:
A: Apart from UV ageing, sand‑dust abrasion, extreme
thermal cycling and high ambient temperature are major hidden risks. Fine sand
particles continuously scour the outer sheath and gradually cut the jacket
under long‑term wind‑blown sand conditions. Day‑night huge temperature swings
cause repeated thermal expansion and contraction on insulation and terminals,
generating hot‑spots at crimping points. You shall select e‑beam cross‑linked
PV cables, avoid tight bundling for heat dissipation, and regularly check
sheath micro‑cracks and terminal temperature rise during annual shutdown
inspection.
